We are Titti and Fabrizio, passionate Chartreux cat breeders. We put all our love and dedication into ensuring that every kitten grows up in a caring home and receives personalised attention, so they can become affectionate and captivating companions. Our mission is to provide our cats with the best possible environment for a happy and healthy life.

A world of love

Fabrizio

Once one of these blue treasures enters your life, you can never do without them. Chartreux cats are a truly special breed, capable of winning you over in every possible way.

From the very beginning, we were captivated by this breed and felt a strong desire to deepen our knowledge of their history and understand the breed standard. We began attending national and international cat shows with our cat Tito, who went on to earn the prestigious title of Supreme Champion (SC).

This experience has been, and continues to be, a wonderful opportunity for us. It allows us not only to connect with other breeders and share our experiences, but also to receive valuable feedback on the work we do in selecting individuals that meet the standard in terms of morphology, health, and temperament.

Titti

It helps us stay up to date with the latest developments and trends in the Chartreux world. It is a continuous process of learning and growth, which pushes us to constantly improve the quality of our cats and maintain the high standards we have set for ourselves. Our commitment to selecting Chartreux goes far beyond aesthetics — we place great emphasis on the health and character of these wonderful felines.

Our mission

We aim to preserve and promote the unique qualities of the breed, ensuring that our cats are not only beautiful, but also well-balanced and affectionate life companions. Our passion for the Chartreux is what guides us on this journey and drives us to dedicate time, care, and love to every single cat born in our cattery.

The joy and satisfaction we feel watching our cats grow and bring happiness to the families who adopt them is the greatest reward for our work. We will continue to honour the Chartreux tradition and to share the beauty and love that this unique breed has to offer.

Training

Titti and Fabrizio successfully completed the second Master for Cat Breeders in 2016, organised by ANFI and ANMVI (Italian National Association of Veterinarians). The course took place in Cremona, at the Centro Studi Palazzo Trecchi, in three two-day modules (13–14 February, 16–17 April and 11–12 June 2016), taught by veterinary specialists, covering phylogenesis, reproduction and behaviour, infectious diseases and genetics, and breeding management, nutrition, growth, orthopaedics, dermatology, neurology and oncology.

Affiliations

We are members of ANFI (Associazione Nazionale Felina Italiana, the Italian National Feline Association) and of the Club du Chat des Chartreux, the oldest French association of breeders and enthusiasts dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the Chartreux cat.

Since 2020 Fabrizio has been a member of the CHA (Chartreux) Breed Council of the FIFe (Fédération Internationale Féline), the federation's body dedicated to the Chartreux breed.

Health and clinical testing

All our breeding cats are tested for FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) and FeLV (feline leukaemia virus).

Kitten placement

Kittens leave at 14 weeks of age with ANFI pedigree, microchip, registration with ASL Liguria (the Ligurian local health authority), two RPC trivalent vaccinations and one FeLV vaccination. At four months, a third RPC vaccination and a second FeLV vaccination will be required. Kittens going abroad leave at four months of age with a European Pet Passport and Traces-NT. We recommend that anyone interested in one of our kittens visits us, to see in person the environment where the kittens grow up and how socialised our cats are.

Information on available kittens is published on our social pages: Instagram and Facebook.

Animal welfare

We follow Regulation (EU) 2026/1818 on the welfare of dogs and cats and their traceability, applicable from 31 August 2028. Many of our practices are already in line with its requirements.

Our kittens grow up in our home, accustomed from an early age to contact with people and with other cats, and stay with their mother until 14 weeks of age, beyond the 12-week minimum the regulation sets for breeding establishments. They leave with a microchip, ANFI pedigree, registration with ASL Liguria and vaccinations, and all our breeding cats are tested for FIV and FeLV.

Cats that are no longer used for breeding are neutered and either stay with us or are rehomed with families who offer them a peaceful life as companion cats.

In our breeding practices we are stricter than the regulation requires: queens have their first litter no earlier than 18 months of age (the regulation sets a minimum age of 10 months for breeding), each queen has at most 5 litters in her lifetime, and matings are chosen to keep the inbreeding coefficient, calculated over five generations, below 2%. We do not practise any mutilation.

‘An animal is not a toy. Getting one is a life-changing decision. It is your duty to ensure the animal's health and welfare and not to abandon it.’

The great Castelletto family

We consider every adopting family part of the great Castelletto family, and we are delighted to receive updates and photos of our kittens as they grow. Our greatest satisfaction is seeing our cats loved and devotedly cared for in their new homes.
